Processional: Christ Be Beside Me
We ask God to be with us as we enter His house and give praise to His most holy Name. ~ Sofia Scattarreggia, soprano, and Margaret-Mary Owens, organ Psalm 123: R. Our eyes are fixed on the Lord, pleading for his mercy To you I lift up my eyes who are enthroned in heaven - as the eyes of servants are on the hands of their masters. As the eyes of a maid are on the hands of her mistress, so are our eyes on the Lord, our god, till he have pity on us. Have pity on us, O Lord, have pity on us, for we are more than sated with contempt; our souls are more than sated with the mockery of the arrogant, with the contempt of the proud. Offertory: I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light What better way is there to give thanks to our God than by living our lives in order with our Creator’s wishes? Let us find strength in His infinite mercy and love, and use the sacraments He gave us to grow closer to Him. Communion: One Communion of Love Let us remember we are receiving Jesus in his entirety when we take Communion. We must take the necessary steps through the Sacrament of Penance and proper spiritual preparation to receive the powerful graces granted to us through this sacrament. Post-Communion: Jesus my Lord, My God, My All Our post-communion hymn for the month of July is intended to remind us that above all things, we must cherish our Lord, who is all good. Through him, all things are possible. Recessional: America the Beautiful - United States Navy Band This anthem, written by Katherine Lee Bates, needs no introduction. This is a church-approved hymn chosen to pray that God blesses our country in honor of the Fourth of July weekend.
